For decades, cancer has been one of the greatest public health threats worldwide. In France, there are more than 400,000 new cases each year, a figure that has doubled since 1990. To combat this disease, a large number of methods have been developed, chemotherapy And radiotherapy has immunotherapy, there phototherapy and the new ones vaccines anticancer. All of these approaches have in common that they target cancer cells in order to destroy them, but they can cause side effects by unintentionally attacking healthy cells. A new technique tries the opposite approach: instead of destroying tumor cells, why not “convince” them to become wise again? Researchers at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) have presented a way to transform cancer cells into healthy cells. This method, which could revolutionize cancer treatment, was presented on December 11, 2024 in the journal Advanced Science.

This approach allows cancer cells to be "cured" by transforming them into normal cells, which could facilitate cancer treatment.
This approach could be used to treat colorectal cancer, one of the most worrying due to its rapid progression in the population.
