Recruitment of interns at Sajik begins on the 3rd

It was revealed that among the 199 residents of Sajik who expressed their intention to resume training in the first half of this year, only one applied for the department of obstetrics and gynecology. Recently, 211 training hospitals across the country started recruiting residents for the first half of the year, targeting 9,220 residents. As a result, only 199 people, or 2.2 billion, applied.

According to data submitted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare to the office of People's Power Party Rep. Seo Myung-ok on the 2nd, among the 199 people, the most common specialty was internal medicine, with 24 people. They were followed by 22 orthopedic surgeons, 14 neurosurgeons, 13 from radiology and emergency medicine, and 10 from anesthesiology and pain medicine, otolaryngology and laboratory medicine.

The department with the fewest people is preventive medicine, with 0 people. Similarly, only one person indicated that obstetrics and gynecology were subjects that they avoided. Next come occupational and environmental medicine and nuclear medicine with 2 each, radiation oncology with 3, and pathology, rehabilitation medicine and dermatology with 4 each.

Furthermore, among the 37 applicants to the second round of recruitment of first-year residents targeting those who have completed (or are expected to complete) their internship, 7 applied to the Department of Family Medicine, the Department of Psychiatry, and the Department of Orthopedics. Then there were 4 physicians from internal medicine, 2 from neurosurgery, 2 from ophthalmology, and 2 from dermatology, and 1 each from pediatrics, neurology, radiology, surgery, emergency medicine, and rehabilitation medicine. There were no applications for the remaining subjects.

Meanwhile, the recruitment of interns for the first half of the year will begin soon. Training hospitals across the country are recruiting interns for the first half of this year for 3 to 4 days. The target is 2,967 interns who resigned or gave up their jobs last year.
