There psilocybin is in fashion! This alkaloid, the active ingredient in certain hallucinogenic mushrooms, has aroused the curiosity of researchers for several years. Because beyond its psychedelic effects, it also seems to improve mental health. Studies show, for example, that it would be effective in treating people with resistant depression to traditional antidepressants as well as alcohol addictions linked to depression. But its benefits don't stop there! Researchers at Emory University in the United States have just shown that this molecule has a positive impact on overall health by slowing down cellular aging.
