In an operating room at the Toulouse University Hospital, an abdominoplasty is nearing completion. The excess skin that has just been removed from the patient is carefully set aside. Ordinarily destined for destruction, this piece of skin will be collected and, in a few hours, will become a valuable tool for research. The skin is collected by specialized transporters and arrives within 24 hours of surgery at the laboratories of Genoskin, a biotech company specializing in the recycling of skin samples.
