Lee Jae-myeong, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, announced on the 16th that he would step down as "leader" of his fan cafe "Jae-myeong's Village."

Then he said “바쁜 일상 탓에 일일이 인사드리진 못하지만, 재명이네 마을 주민 여러분들께서 누구보다 뛰어난 '행동력'으로 민주주의를 지키는 일에 앞장서주심을 잘 알고 있다” and “ 대선 패배 고개 숙이고 있던 저를 다시 일으켜주신 여러분의 봄날 같은 사랑 마음에 새기고 있으니 걱정하지 말라”.
Rep. Lee also added “이장은 아니라도 전 여전히 재명이네 마을 주민이다. 늘 그랬듯 좋은 소리도 쓴소리도 자유롭게 남겨달라” by saying “다시 돌아오겠다. 기약할수없지만. 사랑합니다. 여러분”.
"Jaemyung's Village", a fan cafe with ardent supporters of CEO Lee, has 200,000 members. In the cafe, "chef" is a rank held only by CEO Lee, and has actually been used as a nickname by fans for CEO Lee.
The non-Lee Jae-myeong faction within the party has taken issue with Rep. Lee's strong support base and demanded his "resignation as chairman." As criticism poured in, PDG Lee had been considering resigning as village chief since late last year.
