Lidl GB is to triple its plant-based product range in the coming weeks.
Select stores in the UK region will offer plant-based burgers and sausages as well as mince, nuggets and nuggetlets ahead of a national rollout in January.
Lidl focuses on plant-based foods

Lidl GB has announced the launch of the new product as it pledges to double its sales of plant-based products over the next year as part of its commitment to becoming carbon neutral by 2050.
Bourns continued: “We are the first UK retailer to set targets for plant-based protein. We are committed to breaking down key barriers within the category, such as quality, price and availability.”

Tracey J. Jones, global food director at Compassion in the World Farming, said Lidl aims to increase its plant-based sales to 25% of all protein sales.
