Nestlé aims to develop new products for ready meals and expands its commercial strategy

After two successful launches, the Swiss food and beverage giant is focusing on developing new products for a range of ready meals.
Nestlé launched Mings & Tapatio to capitalize on growing consumer demand for international cuisines, a Nestlé representative told FoodNavigator.
We worked closely with the Tapatio family and Chef Ming to develop authentic and new dishes for the American consumer.
The spokesperson says global cuisine accounts for $11 billion in total market sales and consumers are looking for new flavors and new regionalities.

They continue: “Gen Z is the most diverse group of people, and they are looking for unique flavors, experiences, and global cuisine.” In fact, Gen Zers are proud of their heritage and culture, with 68,133 of them saying they would like more opportunities to share it with the world.
Nestlé has highlighted frozen foods as a category with "strong margins" and return on investment.
Nearly a third of the market share is held by its pizzas and frozen meals in North America.
The spokesman said frozen food innovation has accelerated to capitalize on healthy market share. "There is ample room for new products and segments," he added.
Celebrity chef Ming Tsai developed Mings Asian Cuisine. Tapatio is a partnership between a hot sauce company of the same brand and celebrity chef Ming Tsai.
Generation Z is buying more prepared meals
The launch of each of these products was aimed at meeting the demand of the younger generation for a more diverse range of flavors.
Tom Moe, president of Nestlé USA Meals, said, “Introducing Mings and Tapatio to our frozen meal portfolio is another way we’re meeting consumers’ needs for the bold flavors and affordability they desire.”
