Sevilla, June 30, 2025 (OPS)— At the IV International Conference on Finance for the Desarrollo (FfD4), which is celebrated this week in Sevilla, Spain, the Director of the Panamerican Health Organization (OPS), doctor Jarbas Barbosa, and the Secretary General of the Secretary General Iberoamericana (SEGIB), Andrés Allamand, reafirmaron su compromiseo conjunto de avanzar hacia una Iberoamérica más inclusive, equitativa y saludable.
During the meeting, the representatives of other institutions firmed a new memorando of understanding (MoU) which fortalece and amplified their collaboration in areas of priority such as the elimination of the transmission congenita del Chagas, the safety of life, the attention to persons with disability, the mental health of children and adolescent girls, as well as Over-Sur cooperation.

The participation of the Director of the OPS in the FfD4 begins with a key mission of the OPS: to ensure that health occupies a central place in the debates on financing for the development.

During his meeting, the Director of the OPS and the Secretary General of the SEGIB also spoke about the XXX Cumbre Iberoamericana, which will be celebrated in Madrid in 2026. We are also interested in expressing concrete health topics in the agenda of the cumbre, as a form of promoting collaboration between countries, approach communities and promote sustainable development in the region.
