Most infections in papillomavirus heal naturally, but about 10 % of them become chronic and can cause cervical cancers, among others. According to a new study from the Collège de France, published on January 21, 2025 in the journal Plos Biology, Even infections that are not chronic are also very long-lived, which could partly explain why these viruses are so infectious.
