JAKARTA – Parto Patrio He is hesitant to move even though the area where he lives is prone to flooding. He admitted that until now, he still feels at home living in the Kemang Pratama area of Bekasi.
"There are no plans to move. I haven't thought about it yet," said the comedian, whose real name is Eddy Soepono, when he was met in the Tendean neighborhood of South Jakarta on March 14, 2025.
Parto is grateful that the March 4 flood wasn't as severe as in 2020. At that point, he said, the flood entered the residential area and submerged Parto's row of luxury cars parked in the garage.
"In 2020, several residents were affected by floods that didn't reach their homes. But this year, the deluge hit. "During that time, we didn't enter our house," he added.
Heavy rains that hit Jakarta and its surrounding areas in early March caused flooding in several areas, including the Kemang Pratama area of Bekasi, where Parto Patrio lives.
Although his house was not submerged by floodwaters, road access to his home was paralyzed due to standing water. This situation disrupts the activities of residents around Kemang Pratama Bekasi.
Parto Patrio admitted that he had to wade through puddles 30 to 70 centimeters high to be able to do activities outside the house.*
