Princess Kate, who announced in early September that she had completed her chemotherapy treatment, said on Tuesday that she was "relieved to now be in remission" from her cancer.
"As anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer knows, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. However, I am looking forward to the year ahead," Prince William's wife wrote on social media.
Kate, who turned 43 on January 9, visited the Royal Marsden Hospital in London on Tuesday, where she was treated for cancer, to thank the staff and offer support to patients. During the visit, she praised the "extraordinary work" being done at the hospital.
In February 2024, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III was suffering from cancer, without specifying the type, and that he was withdrawing from public life to undergo treatment.
The following month, Kate revealed that she also had cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy, before announcing in September that she had finished her treatment.
Omnipresent in the media before the announcement of her illness but almost invisible afterward, Kate announced that she would resume her royal engagements.
In early November, Prince William, heir to the throne, confided that the past year had been "brutal" and probably "the hardest" of his life.
