“As anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer knows, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. However, I am looking forward to the year ahead.”, wrote Prince William's wife on social media. Kate, who celebrated her 43rd birthday on January 9, visited the Royal Marsden Hospital in London on Tuesday, where she was treated for cancer, to thank the staff and show support to the patients. During the visit, she greeted the "extraordinary work" carried out in this hospital.

King Charles III suffers from cancer

In February 2024, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III was suffering from cancer, without specifying the type, and that he was withdrawing from public life to undergo treatment. The following month, Kate revealed that she also had cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy, before announcing the end of her treatment in September.

Omnipresent in the media before the announcement of her illness but virtually invisible afterward, Kate announced that she would resume her royal duties. In early November, Prince William, heir to the throne, revealed that the past year had been "brutal" and probably "the hardest" of his life.
