Despite its turbulent history, psychedelic medicine is gaining ground in France. In February 2024, the Nimes University Hospital launched the first French clinical trial in this field since the 1960s. Nine months after its launch, we look back at this pilot study with addiction specialist Amandine Luquiens.

February 2024 saw the official launch of the very first study in France since the 1960s on the therapeutic interest of psychedelic substances on human subjects. This single-center academic study (conducted in a single research center) is taking place within the addiction department of the Nimes University Hospital.
