The influence of sleep on the immune system is no longer in doubt. "There is no shortage of studies linking poor sleep quality or quantity to infectious diseases. ", asks Sabine Plancoulaine, research director at Inserm. Ten years ago, a study published in the journal Sleep revealed that people who slept less than 6 hours a night were 4.2 times more likely to catch a cold than those who slept more than 7 hours.
