Traces of alcohol detected: ANSM recalls serum bottles

Batches of Happy Lab saline solution are being recalled due to traces of cleaning alcohol. The Medicines Agency (MAF) is recommending that affected products be returned or discarded.

The drug agency announced Friday that it was recalling certain batches of Happy Lab brand saline solution, some of whose bottles may contain traces of cleaning alcohol, and urged people to return them to a pharmacy or throw them away. "quality defect" was detected after the use on a child of this physiological serum from batch N.25045 of the Happy Lab brand, contained in 500 ml bottles, specifies the French National Agency for the Safety of Medicines (ANSM) in a press release. But another batch, N. 25034, i.e. one-liter bottles, is also "potentially concerned", continues the agency, which invites "people who have bought bottles from these two batches to throw them away or return them to a pharmacy". And this, because of the "possible presence of traces of cleaning alcohol in certain bottles", indicates the ANSM. The French distributor of this physiological serum has “stopped distribution and recalled batch 25045 from the city pharmacies in which it had been distributed”. "Investigations are continuing to identify the origin of this quality defect and determine whether other batches are affected.", she concluded.
