Old Pulteney Whisky and Michelin-starred chef team up
Nuno Mendes has created a series of recipes in collaboration with Old Pulteney, a whisky.
Mendes’ recipes draw inspiration from both his Portuguese heritage and Old Pulteney’s hometown of Wick in Scotland, and feature Old Pulteney Port, the latest limited edition from the Coastal Series brand.
Recipes include Portuguese Smoked Rice Cake with Old Pulteney Port and Old Pulteney Port, Arroz de Marisco, a rice dish with crab, lobster and Old Pulteney Port.
Mendes said he created these recipes to show the connection between Portuguese and Scottish cuisine, enhancing the flavours of the sea with Old Pulteney Port. The flavours I explored celebrate our coastal heritage and come to life in delicious and memorable recipes.
Nuno’s creativity and passion are the perfect complement to our unique whisky. We know, as Nuno does, how much the sea has the power to evoke and influence our senses, so we can’t wait to see what whisky and food lovers will think of this collaboration.
Innocent Drinks redesigns its packaging
Innocent UK has updated its packaging. The new packaging design is used across the range, including Core, Super and iplus juices and smoothies.
This design, which replaces the brand logo with a personalized woodmark, aims for simplicity.
Innocent will have a consistent brand design across its 18 markets. This includes natural photography, back-of-pack stories and even hand-drawn details.
Innocent will design its juices with natural fruit photographs on a plain white label. Its Core smoothies are designed to use subtle tones to indicate the thickness of the product. The iplus line will feature transparent labels that will show the vibrant liquid inside. And for the Super Smoothies range, the rich colours of the label will communicate the nutritional and functional aspects of the range.
Our designs have evolved naturally as our business has grown, but we decided it was time for a refresh. Our new design strategy was inspired by the fact that our bottles weren’t making it easy for drinkers to select our products and enjoy the fruits and vegetables inside.
Our guy, a symbol of goodness. We wanted to create a visual system that would match that. This bold and playful design aligns with our innocent brand and helps drinkers understand what’s going on in juices and smoothies. “We can’t believe this is going to be on shelves in the next few months.”
By February 2025, the new design will have been fully implemented.

Protein Ball Co. Introduces New Multipacks
UK-based Protein Ball Co. has launched three new protein ball multipacks.
Multipacks are available for products that were previously only available in the takeaway section of supermarkets. Protein Balls multipacks are available in Blueberry Oat Muffin and Salted Caramel.
According to the product, the products are sugar-free and high in vitamins D3, C3, B12, and fiber. They also provide at least 7g of protein per 45g bag (the Peanut Butter Protein Balls have 10g of protein).
“We are excited to launch these multipacks which allow us to reach a wider range of consumers. Our products are aimed at customers on the go, looking for an impulse purchase that will fuel their active lifestyle. The new multipacks will appeal to people who plan ahead and want to have healthy snacks on hand throughout the week,” said Matt Hunt.
This will be our first multipack for the retail market. This will hopefully give retailers more flexibility to decide where they want to sell The Protein Ball Co, and the format that best suits their customers’ needs.
Three bags are included in each multipack. UK supermarkets sell them for PS4.99.
