Users — primarily women — of UV tanning beds have a three times greater risk of melanoma (skin cancer). In their skin cells, their DNA is twice as mutated as in unexposed individuals twice their age.

“ (Users of UV tanning beds) have, in just a few decades, accumulated the damage caused by UV rays equivalent to two entire lifetimes." concludes a new study published in the journal Science Advances which analyzes the cellular changes caused by exposure to this artificial tanning method.
