Hanyang University announced on the 9th that the 8th spring semester of the Young Senior Model Specialization Course, which is now in its 7th year, will begin on the 14th of next month.
The specialist course is aimed at aspiring models who want to walk the runway. It is particularly notable because it targets the middle-aged and older generations.
As life expectancy increases and interest in fashion grows, middle-aged and older generations are rapidly emerging as a new consumer group in the fashion market.
As a result, the fashion industry also actively produces and promotes middle-aged and older (senior chic) style clothing.
In addition, the demand for models who can present such clothes professionally is also increasing.
Universities are also actively implementing educational programs to teach and explore middle-aged and older role models.
Among them, the Senior Young Model Specialization Course at Hanyang University's Future Talent Education Center offers various training programs focusing on the basics of modeling, such as walking and posing.
Professional teachers, including Professor Park Jeong-wan, a model and director, and Professor Yang Eun-young, who won first place in the Elite Model Contest, teach and impart not only the basic skills a model should have, but also the on-the-job experience (know-how).
Professor Park Jae-in, CEO of Sarambook.com, a company specializing in human branding, will focus on teaching individual model promotion (branding) to help them in their practical activities after graduation.
Additionally, Professor Kim Min-geon teaches health and physical strength, Professor Yoon Young-eun teaches hair and makeup, Professor Park Gyeong-eun teaches fashion design, Professor Ji In-ho teaches acting, and Professor Park Ji-kang teaches casting consulting.
The recruitment age is 40, 50, 60 years and above, and the maximum is 20 people.
The deadline is the 11th of next month.
After registration, an interview will be conducted and your success or failure will be communicated to you individually.
The training period is 23 weeks and takes place once a week for 4 hours.
The course culminates in a graduation fashion show where students wear designer clothing and make their debut in a real fashion show.
Professor Park Jeong-wan said, "Many professors find it difficult to help middle-aged and elderly people who are questioning their second life succeed," and added, "I hope they will challenge themselves to become the models they have always dreamed of through the Young Senior Model Specialization Program at Hanyang University's Future Talent Education Center, which has a long history and tradition."
