Fry's plant-based mince launches at Tesco
British plant-based food brand Fry's Family Food has launched its plant-based mince at Tesco supermarket. According to the brand, the Shape & Sizzle mince is high in fibre, low in saturated fat and is a great source of protein.
According to the brand description, it is “shapeable,” which means this mince is very versatile.
We believe our Shape & Sizzle mince will give consumers more flexibility when preparing their family favourites. Herring explains that the mince is ideal for making meatballs, burgers and koftas. It’s also suitable for classics like bolognese and shepherd’s pie, as well as lasagne and other dishes.
Tesco sells the mince at a recommended retail price of £2.50 for 300g.
Muller Myprotein and Yoghurt offer high protein yogurt
Sports nutrition brand Myprotein has teamed up with Muller Desserts to produce high-protein yoghurts in a bid to capitalise on the growing demand for high-protein products.
According to the brands, the range is HFSS compliant. The 500g yoghurt pots contain 49g of protein for natural flavours and 45g for vanilla. There are also 200g puddings with light mice and light puddings, each containing 20g of protein. The mouse is available in two flavours: chocolate or salted caramel, and vanilla and chocolate puddings.
Richard Williams, CEO of Muller Yogurt & Desserts, said: “We asked ourselves how we could continue to optimise our health and nutrition portfolio whilst bringing something unique to the dairy aisle that meets growing consumer demands and drives further growth in the protein category.”
We found that current and potential buyers of protein yogurt have concerns about taste and sports nutrition credibility. Many are also intimidated by the brand's positioning, which is focused on elite sport.
We are confident that by expanding our product range and adding Myprotein, the experts in sports nutrition, to Muller's reputation for exceptional taste, we will have the best combination for customers.
From September 11, the range is available. The recommended retail price for the yogurt will be 3 PS, while the puddings and mouse will be 1.95 PS.
